Getting started

Your first month on OnlyFans, starting from zero

Opening the account takes an afternoon. What decides how it goes is the weeks that follow. If you were starting with us, this is roughly the plan we would follow.

Before you post anything

The boring part comes first. OnlyFans asks you to verify your identity with an ID document and to add a bank account to get paid, and you need to do it with your real details. Publicly, you can use a stage name.

Then sit down for a while and decide what kind of content you will make, for whom, and what you will never do. Write it down. It sounds silly, but it helps you create consistently and say no without hesitating when a fan asks for something that does not fit. If you do not want to show your face, decide now and read how to plan a faceless account before you shoot.

And shoot before you launch. Ideally you have content for several weeks of posts plus a few pieces saved to sell by message. Your first visitors look at your feed before paying, and a feed with three posts does not inspire much confidence.

The first week

Pick a price you are comfortable with; in how to price your OnlyFans we explain how to think about it. Prepare a welcome message for every new subscriber that sounds like you and not like an answering machine.

And start on social media from day one. Traffic arrives slowly at first, which is normal and does not mean you are doing it wrong. What matters at this stage is being consistent and noting where each subscriber comes from.

The rest of the month

From here it is about finding a routine you can keep up. Posting on your feed regularly, even if it is a little. Posting on social media almost every day, because that is where people come from. And answering messages in fixed time slots, because if you answer them around the clock you will be exhausted within two weeks.

When the month ends, look at your numbers: how many new subscribers, how many renewed, how much you sold by message and which platform brought the most people. With that, you know what to repeat next month.

What we see go wrong

Launching with no content ready and running out of things to post in the second week. Dropping the price every few days because fans are not coming, when what is missing is traffic. Buying followers, who inflate your profile and do not pay for subscriptions. And trying to do everything at once from day one. It is better to master one platform and then add another than to open four and abandon them all within a month.
